Name No One Man

Getting anything published is absolutely incredible and shows a lot of persistence and determination, because there are so many barriers. Trying to find the right journal, have the story that will land with them, ensuring it’s at the right level of development, and quite simply just getting noticed when there are no doubt dozens of other really great entries. I’ve been quite fortunate thus far to get a few editors who really worked with me to make tweaks, but a special thank you needs to go to Cold Open Stories for the editorial work that helped this story develop in this direction.

Originally, this story had a similar, yet distinct, premise that just wasn’t landing as successfully as I wanted. Working with Colyn as my editor, I went through a round of edits and then he offered a discord call to help me really talk out a different direction that would be a better fit for the story and the journal.
